Experience the Difference

Using the latest technology, we employ evidence-based practices to find the fastest ways to heal you. For example, total contact casting is the gold standard for treating diabetic foot ulcers, yet not many wound clinics in the valley perform this limb-saving treatment. We are the state’s most significant users of total contact casting and have salvaged thousands of limbs from amputation.

Meet Our Lead Wound Care Physician

With a background in Family Medicine, I graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona in 2009. I met my mentor Marc Gottlieb who helped train me in the field of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine. Unlike many specialties in healthcare, wound care does not have an accredited fellowship program or training for doctors. At that time, Banner Good Samaritan was looking to start one of the only Wound Care Fellowships in the country.

Over the course of two years, I trained with Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Podiatry, and General Medicine. Since then, I have honed my skills in treating particular types of chronic non-healing wounds, with autoimmune wounds being some of the most challenging to heal. With a background in Family Medicine and working in conjunction with Rheumatology, AZ Wound is one of the only groups equipped to care for these complex wounds.

Over the past 16 years, I have worked with some amazing doctors and nurses and am humbled to be part of a larger group that helps care for complex patients both in the hospital and clinic settings.

When I’m not at work with my work family, I am at home with my three boys, my wife, and two dogs. I enjoy being outside, hiking to some of my favorite spots in Arizona like Havasupai and West Clear Creek Canyon. I enjoy watching my boys play basketball on the weekends and relaxing with family dinners.

I am grateful to my community doctors for recognizing Wound Care as a specialty, starting in 2018 in Phoenix Magazine Top Doc. I have been fortunate to be the only Wound Care provider included in Top Doc yearly since its addition to Phoenix Magazine as a specialty.
