Chronic wounds, also referred to as nonhealing wounds, can stem from an array of conditions such as diabetes, inadequate blood flow, physical trauma, vascular disorders, and prolonged immobility. These factors could potentially give rise to pressure ulcers, more widely recognized as bed sores.
No. We will work with your provider or specialist during your treatments. While receiving treatment, you will continue to receive care from your provider.
Many health plans, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance, cover outpatient wound care. We’ll contact your insurance carrier to determine your eligibility and review your options with you before undergoing any treatment.
During your initial visit, our trained wound care specialists will thoroughly review your medical history, perform blood tests, and evaluate any prior treatments you’ve received. Additionally, they will conduct an in-depth assessment of your wound(s), including taking photographs for reference.
Anticipate dedicating roughly an hour for your first appointment with us. Subsequent visits might take less time, depending on the specific wound care needed.
Before carrying out any procedure, we will apply a topical anesthetic to the affected area to help minimize potential discomfort you might experience. We also offer a pain-free misting option for wound debridement.
