Jessica Nguyen is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in wound and ostomy care at AZ Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine. She began her career with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Arizona, initially intending to pursue pharmacy. However, she soon realized her passion for direct patient care and pivoted to nursing, earning her RN in 2009 from Mesa Community College and a Bachelor’s in Nursing from ASU in 2010.
With 17 years of nursing experience—15 of those dedicated to wound and ostomy care—Jessica has trained alongside specialists in family medicine, internal medicine, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, general surgery, and podiatric surgery. Her passion for wound healing led her to obtain certification in wound and ostomy care through the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification Board.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, as well as with family and friends.
“To have a wound or an ostomy can be life-altering on many levels. I love working alongside patients facing acute and chronic conditions, helping them understand the healing process and empowering them to manage their care confidently. Unlike many other specialties, I can visually see progress in wound healing and ostomy management, which allows me to educate patients on why these changes are happening and guide them toward recovery and independence.”
We don’t just treat wounds; we change lives, inspire hope, and restore well-being. Join us on a journey towards renewed health and rediscover the joy of living.
